O by Locofood is a small breakfast shop located in the Minsheng Community area. It is the second store by Locofood, which is at Nanjing East Road. Whereas the (very popular) first store Locofood is more like a restaurant/cafe with a more diverse variety of breakfast food to offer, O by Locofood is mainly focused on "danbing" (蛋餅, Taiwanese omelet). There are a few tables and (most of the time) no chairs! It's more a grab a quick bite and be on the go again kind of place. 

The menu is in Chinese only, so be adventurous and try your luck! Haha, or you can ask them in English what all the flavors are. But even in Chinese, we had to ask about some of the danbing flavors, since some of the Chinese names weren't very clear about what to expect. 

A good danbing has to be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and LoCo Food surely has the whole package. On top of that, they have created some interesting fillings like hash brown (personally my favourite), barbecue pork and sausage. Everything is served in a cute cast iron pan.

For breakfast, a cup of soy milk goes perfect with the danbing!

If you go in the morning, you can try one of the daily breakfast sets which comes with a drink. In my opinion, anytime is danbing time! But keep in mind that they close at 4 PM.

Since their opening in June 2015, Burger Ray has been a popular place for gourmet burgers. They have small variety of burgers, but they do what they do best. 

We ordered the SE Asian pork burger (特製南洋豬肉堡) and their Signature burger (招牌漢堡). 

Burger Ray has a self-service concept. Order at the counter, pay and get your ticket number. When your order is ready they will call your number. After picking up your burger, go straight to the salad bar, where you can add whatever you want to put on your burger (only 1 time per burger).

They offer cheese sauce and tomato meatball sauce for the fries. If you order a drink, they offer unlimited refills from the self-serve soda machine.

If you are craving for a decent (and quite filling) gourmet burger, this is the place to be. It can be quite busy during dinner time, so try to avoid rush hour! :)

Fries with truffle (NT$ 120). The fries are very crispy and the small amount of truffle is just the right amount to go with the fries. 

Smoked Salmon Baked Sandwich (NT$ 190) with sesame tofu and vegetables as the two side dishes. 

Latte Coffee (NT$ 120, but get NT$ 30 discount if you order it together as a drink with the meal, so actually it was NT$ 90)

Spicy Curry Pork Baked Tortilla (NT$ 220) with soup and French fries as the two side dishes.

The baked tortilla was filled with spicy curry pork, bell peppers and cheese. Very tasty and not too spicy.

Been there multiple times already, but unfortunately for you guys, most of the time the food was already gone before I could have taken a picture of it! I have very hungry friends, hehe. :p
In short: Great place for having brunch/lunch when you are hungry! Mini Diner serves tasty and huge portions American food, both salty and sweet! So, what are you waiting for? Oh, make sure to call beforehand to see if there is a table available, especially on the weekends.

Campus Cafe is an American style cafe serving American style food. It's pretty popular and packed easily, so before you head over, better give them a call first. 

We ordered their Seafood Penne w/ Cream Pesto Sauce (NT$ 230). I thought it was so so, the seafood was mediocre, with small scallops and a couple of small shrimps.  

The Cheese Steak Philly Panini (NT$ 190) on the other hand was good! The taste was quite heavy, but very tasty. The steak was tender and well seasoned and made a perfect combination with the melted cheese. The strawberry dressing that came with the salad tasted a bit strange and artificial. A better choice would have probably been a dressing that tasted more fresh, like mango or orange flavored.  

The table next to ordered a HUGE chili hotdog! After checking the menu, it appears to be the Jumbo Chili Hotdog (NT$ 290). It looked quite delicious and the couple finished everything. Guess I already know what I'm going to order next time I go to Campus Cafe.^^

Baffi has been around for some time now and is quite popular in the east district (東區). If you plan to go during the week at lunch time, I would advise you to make reservations first. Baffi offers a good set lunch deal for around 300 NTD.  For the main dish you can choose from 3 dishes (noodles, pasta or risotto), followed by a delicious vanilla pudding with caramel sauce for dessert. The dishes may change or vary.

First, an appetizer and a soup of the day are served. We had corn soup with olive oil and a flavorful cooked pumpkin appetizer. Yum! 

The Sicilian seafood risotto (西西里海鮮燉飯) is cooked in tomato sauce and full of seafood. If you like squid rings, this is your dish! 

I love their cream bacon and pumpkin farfalle (奶油培根南瓜蝴蝶結麵)! The creaminess of the cheese and the combination of salty bacon and sweet pumpkin are a delight for your tastebuds! 

For dessert we had a vanilla pudding with caramel sauce, which was the perfect ending of the lunch! 

Personally, I enjoyed all the courses of the lunch set! I left the restaurant very satisfied. The items on the a la carte menu looked good as well, so will definitely give it a try sometime.

The new recently opened (May 2015) Burger Fix is located near the the 24h Eslite bookstore at Dunhua. It is the first burger outlet in Taipei owned by the Ambassador Hotel and they serve quality beef supplied from the hotel's A-Cut Steakhouse.

The menu is quite simple and to the point. The burgers prices vary from 175 NT$ for the basic single Fixburger to 265 NT$ for a double cheeseburger. Fries and drinks have to be ordered separately, unless you order one of the three set combo's that they offer. 

Find a table first and fill in your order before going to the counter to order and pay. 

I guess they change the set combo's from time to time, so they didn't mention specifically what their combo 1, 2 and 3 are. They had the following set combo's when we went:

I ordered the Single Cheeseburger (NT$ 185). The bread of the burger has a different and unique structure and taste, not like the regular buns that you would get at other places. I liked this firm and less-sweetened bread, since I find most of the bread in Taiwan are (too) sweet. The meat of the beef patty is very juicy, but not greasy and you can really taste the beef flavor. You can immediately tell the difference at the first bite! 

K.Pop Crispy Chicken (NT$ 165) is a fried chicken filet burger topped with some kimchi. The kimchi flavor is not too overwhelming or spicy, but just right. 

My friend ordered the BCB (NT$ 205). I didn't taste it, but she said it was good.

The Skin on French Fries (NT$ 80) were good, but a bit on the soft side. I like it that they are not flavored, so you can taste the original taste of the potato. 

The Vanilla Milkshake (NT$ 160) is a must order! The milkshake is very thick, rich and creamy, made from home-made ice cream!

Since Burger Fix is located near the Dunhua Eslite 24h bookstore, so may want to visit the bookstore afterwards, or the other way around!
